Ø
Theme :
Pride and prejudice had theme love, reputation
and high class society. Love between Mr.Darcy and Elizabeth, Mr.Bingley and
Jane. It’s love because they was loved each other. Althought they was different
class society and some people do not agree with their relationship. But, they
always struggle for their love till they married.
Ø
Tone :
Pride and prejudice had tone Romantic and
Revenge. It is Romantic because Mr.Darcy and Elizabeth always struggle for
their relationship, althought they have many problem. And had reverange,
bacause Mr.Wickham don’t like with Mr.Darcy. so, he dissfigure Mr.Darcy to
Elizabeth for make she angry with Mr.Darcy.
Example : “when my own father died, Darcy’s father promised to help me. in his
will, he left me valuable living. But, his son made sure it was given to another
man.” Wickham said. “Good Heavens!”
Elizabeth cried out. Mr.Wickham was lie to Elizabeth about Mr.Darcy.
Ø
Point of view :
Pride and prejudice use third-person.
Example : In chapter IV, page 11 “Me is
just what a young man ought to be.”
Said she.
Ø
According to me, that the novel was very
interesthing, romantic and who has
really breave character in Elizabeth. I found interseting in chapter XIX, pages
87-89, “Belive me, my dear Elizabeth,
that your modestly, so far from doing you any disservice, rathers adds to your
other perfections. I singled, you out as the companion of my future life.”
Said Mr.Collins, than Elizabeth said “You
are too hasty, sir. You forget thaht i have made no answer. I do assure you
that i am not one of those young ladies, who are so darling as to riks their
happiness on the chance of being asked a second time. You could not make me
happy.” Elizabeth reject proposal
married Mr.Collins, she was really breave to do it. Althought, she know that
her mother will angry with her. And from
the novel we can learn how two struggle our love with someone and from the
novel too, we can learn how to appreciate someone not with first meet.

UNSUR EKTRINSTIK
Between the
late 18th and early centuries, english literarture underwent a dramatic transition.
The 18th century had seen the rise of the novel in the works of writers like
Daniel Defoe (Moll Flanders) and Samuel Richardson (Pamela). These novels
focused on board social issues of morality and domestic manners. With the turn
of the century and the rise of romanticism, however, the novel began to explore
human relationship with a greater degree of emotional complexity. Neither a
classicist nor a Romantic, Jane Austen is perhaps best thought of as a
pioneering figure in the development of the novel, providing the bridge from
the often didactic novels of an earlier era to the great works of phychological
realism of the Victorian period. Austen’s novels are famous for the way they
seem to exist in a small, self-contained universe. There are almost no
references in her work to the events of the large world. Nevertheless, it is
worth noting that Austen’s depiction of life in the tranquil English
countryside takes place at the same time when England was fhighting for its
life againts the threat of Napoleon.
