                                                            “Concept of meaning”

            Semantics is the study of meaning in language. It’s make to you to careful thinking about your language and the way you use it, concentrating, naturally, on instances ofsuch words as mean, mean and meaning in semantic, whereas their concepts still we use until now. Some of famous concepts is Ferdinand de Saussure, Ogden and Richard and Sandres Peirce.

            First, the concept of meaning by Ferdinan De saussure. In his concept, he explain the different thing between Signified and Signifier. Signified is the idea or image of object in our minds and signifier is how the way we pronounce the sound images.

            Second, concept by Ogden and Richard. They explain the relation between concept, sign and significatum. Whereas concept is the object in our mind, sign is the language of object and significatum is the real thing object in the world.

            And the last famous concept by Sanders Peirce. He explain about index, icon and symbol. Index is somthing which has relation with the object and symbol is the language of the object.

In short, Ferdinan de saussure concept’s with different thing between signified and signifier, Ogden and  Richard concept’s about the relation of concept, sign and signifacum. And Sanders Peirce concept’s about index, icon, and symbol are some famous concepts of meaning in semantics.
