1)      Character and Characterization

A.      Major  Character :

1.       D’Artagnan : A young man, optimistic and pessimist want to become a Musketeers. He bold, great to fight, loyalty, emotion and smart.

2.       The Three Musketeers :

·         Porthos : Verry tall, honest, kind, frienly, strong, great to fight, loyalty.

·         Athos : Handsome, grown up, frienly, loyalty and great to fight.

·         Armis : He is fat, frienly, kind, loyalty, great to fight.

3.       Milady Clarik : Sly, evil, perfidious.

B.      Minor Character :

1.       M.de Jussac : Devil.

2.       King Louis XII : Wise, kind.

3.       Queen Anne : Beautiful.

4.       Madame Bonacieux : Beautiful, pretty.

5.        Lord Winter : kind, fair.

6.       M.de Treville : Kind, frienly, strong, the captain of his Musketeers.

7.       Richelieu : Evil, sly, cruel.

8.       Kitty : Kind.

9.       Mr.Jhon Felton : Has round character. In the first he is kind, but in the beginning of the story he is sly.

10.   Duke of Buckingham : Subborn.

11.   Gardinal’s Guard : Sly.

2)      Setting :

A.      Place :

·         In france.

·         M.de Treville house’s.

·         London.

·         St.Germain.

B.      Time :

·              1625-28.

When Louis XIII was king of france and charles I was king of england.

France in the seventeenth century was dominated by the king.

3)       Plot :

·         The exposition

D’Artagnan want to become a Musketeers. So, he go to paris to meet M.de Treville, the captain of Musketeers.

·         Complication

At the M.deTreville house D’Artagnan make a mistake to three musketeers. He bump one of musketeers. So, Athos tell to D’Artagnan to duel. But, when they want to duel. The duel was cancelled because of the Cardinal’s Guards.  So, D’Artagnan and three musketeers fight with the Cardinal’s Guards. And luckily, he got three new friends know as three musketeers (Athos-Porthos-Aramis).

·         The Climax

The Queen had given the little rosewood box  to the Duke of Buckingham, and in the rosewood had diamond studs. The Queen needs her diamond studs back. And told to D’Artagnan to help her to go to London to deliver the message for the Duke of Buckingham. But, it is so difficult for D’Argtagnan. Because the help of three musketeers and do battle with the cardinal’s guards and they win, so D’Artagnan succeeds in obtaining the studs from the Duke of Buckingham and saves the Queen’s honor. Besides, D’ Artagnan knows about the Milady. He knows that Milady was sly, evil, perfidious and want to kill the the Duke of Buckingham. And because of it, Milady was angry.

·         Falling action

The Duke of Buckingham and Madam Bonacieux dies by Mr.Jhon Felton and Milady. Milady was tries escape from D’Artagnan and three musketeers . But, she was arrested and finally she was excuted in accordance with her faults.

·         Resolution

So, the story ends with happy ending.

4)      Theme

The Three Musketeers had theme, loyalty, optimistic, frienship, justice. It is loyalty, because  the Musketeers always loyalty to a king. They always keep the king from the enemy. And they want to deliver a secret letter from the queen of France in Paris to the Duke of Buckingham in London when the two contry were at war, although it is a very dangerous duty.

5)      Tone

The Three Musketeers had tone, optimistic. Because they always thinking and optimistic when they want to duel with their anemy, they would win.

Example : “Kill the fellow, and rejoin us as soon as you can.” Athos said to Porthos.
